What do you receive and what is the commissioning process?
The commissioning process starts with you, the consumer, and your wish for a piece of art, an illustration, a logo, or any design for websites, blogs, Facebook pages, Instagram accounts, or any social media.
With this wish, the commissioning process begins...
The commission starts with the idea of the finished project and goes through various stages: planning, sketching, picking colors (if applicable - usually with logos or designs), and then finalizing digitally.
Planning
The first meeting (conversation) comprises describing what you would like in your commission. From what characters or what elements you would like present, to what the purpose of the commission is for (in the case of logos or designs for websites).
Sketching
Once we have fully discussed what you would like for your commission, the next step is fleshing out your idea via sketching. This allows me to better understand and represent what you have communicated to me verbally, so that I may best represent it visually.
Finalizing
After you approve the sketch and all the colors (if applicable), then comes the finalization which involves scanning, cleaning, creating, and coloring the digital version. This step takes the most time, as unlike sketching which is like a visual thought process, creating the digital version is very precise and is set up in a way so that it can be used for your books, business cards, websites, or anywhere else the commissioned piece will go.
